A bit about the role We are preferably looking for someone with Language skills desirable in Urdu, Slovakian, Czech, or Bengali, however this is not essential. We work as part of Newcastle Early Help System, supporting children, young people, and their families with children between the ages 0-19 years old. The service offers a range of family interventions promoting positive outcomes for children. The service also provides a range of holiday activities for children and families with our Family Practitioners actively supporting us. About the role Working closely with babies children, young people and their families, you will build relationships of trust and understanding to identify address their needs. As a Family Practitioner, you will play a vital role in enabling families to develop and grew using group work and one to one interventions. These interventions will be both evidence based, and evidence informed. They will be predominantly in groups but also 1:1 where appropriate. This is a fulfilling and rewarding opportunity for someone with experience in multi-agency work , who understands whole family and community work, who is a confident, proactive team player. What you'll be doing Conduct holistic, whole-family assessments and work with families to identify their strengths and challenges. Act as a Lead Practitioner for Early Help Assessments and Plans Can facilitate responsive group programmes Respond to enquiries and direct contact from various sources, undertaking timely and effective support and regular reviews of family needs. Support families in accessing resources, particularly those who have faced barriers to engagement Offer practical help and encouragement to parents to develop their confidence and parenting skills. To be able to advocate on behalf of babies, children and young people Contribute to the delivery of integrated services, including initiatives like the Supporting Families Programme and UNICEF Baby Friendly status. Maintain accurate records in line with data protection regulations and assist in collecting data to monitor progress. Build and maintain effective professional links, especially with schools and health partners. Attend multi-disciplinary meetings to ensure access to services is timely, appropriate, and well-monitored.
