Join our dynamic edge of care team, Families Together and make a real difference. You’ll work intensively with children, young people and families at risk of entering care, building strong relationships and supporting families to create safe, sustainable change. We are looking for a passionate, motivated and ambitious family intervention workers who are focused on working towards positive outcomes for the children and families we support. As a family intervention worker, you will co-work allocations of children and young people 11-18 this may be with social workers within our service or held in other areas of children and families. You will also support our 16/17 homelessness pathway alongside our amazing social workers. We work intensively which may involve multiple contacts with the family per week, as such we have a reduced caseload to reflect this. About You To apply for this post, you must: Experience and skilled at engaging children and families, identifying strengths within the family and wider network. Preferrable experience of delivering targeted interventions. Ability to provide clear and honest communication holding expectations for improvement and explain boundaries/consequences if changes are not achieved Committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and families, whilst understanding complexities such as mental health factors, neurodivergence, impact of domestic abuse, consideration of child/teenage development and exploitation. Is able to demonstrate the need for persistence, reliability, and flexibility, with the ability to respond quickly to changing needs Open and honest communication with families, being able to offer a High Challenge and High support approach whilst being respectful and empathetic utilising our signs of safety framework Capacity to work collaboratively with families and professionals to achieve shared goals Ability to develop and implement clear plans to sustain progress after service involvement ends Able to complete clear, concise and effective case recording, with use of systems involved. You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion. So… Every year we run three annual conferences for staff to come together and reflect and learn. Every month each team sets aside time for team learning. You will receive consistent, regular, and reflective supervision You will receive group supervision support Our Practice Development Group is well established for practitioners to collaborate on practice development. We have a Critical Incident Response service for staff which provides independent therapeutic support within 48 hours if you experience a significant traumatic experience within work. We have a well-respected Wellbeing Service who provide specific support to staff when needed, but also offers events throughout the year. They also hold a weekly 1:1 focused session for children’s social care staff with a qualified therapist and we support our workers to use this service and seeing the strength in doing so. In all service areas you are expected to work closely with colleagues across team and agency boundaries to ensure that families get the most appropriate level of support. Staff workloads are manageable and are monitored and managed closely. Managers and staff all have regular monthly supervision, and you will be supported in your practice by an experienced senior management team. We are currently operating a hybrid model of working, which includes office working and working from home. You will be provided with equipment including a laptop and smart phone to enable you to complete your role. We utilise smarter and flexible working policies to support staff to fulfil their roles within flexible circumstances.
