Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a talented Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team specializing in Facilities for Cummins Meritor Heavy Vehicle Braking Systems in Cwmbran, UK. This is a permanent role working onsite – flexible shifts: 6.00am to 2.00pm or 7.30am to 4.00pm – work dependent In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Perform general mechanical maintenance and demonstrate a solid understanding of building systems; provide guidance or instructions to others on maintenance activities when required. Assess facility infrastructure for performance, suitability, and safety; carry out repairs or improvements within capability or coordinate and oversee third-party service providers. Prioritize health, safety, and environmental requirements in all tasks, including reactive work assessments, project planning, and preventive maintenance activities. Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics on building systems using appropriate tools and test equipment to identify root causes and resolve issues. Maintain, install, and operate equipment related to building energy systems (e.g., boilers, chillers, compressors, cooling towers, air handling units). Read and interpret mechanical, HVAC, pneumatic, and technical documents such as schematics, drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals. Use maintenance management software to track, assign, and prioritize reactive, planned, preventive, and predictive maintenance tasks, and support building management system (BMS) operations. Collaborate cross-functionally to perform mechanical repairs, train apprentices or junior technicians, support HVAC quality procedures, and participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
