We are searching for an Exposure Manager to lead our exposure management function, with responsibility for improving our exposure management processes, tools and governance as we grow. You will play an integral part in the management of our Syndicate, working alongside our underwriting, pricing, capital and executive teams to deliver leading-edge analytics to help achieve a highly profitable and optimised portfolio. The role covers all lines of business including catastrophe and non-catastrophe. Carbon set out in 2018 with a mission to transform the world of delegated underwriting. The Role: Lead our syndicate exposure management function, including natural catastrophe, non-natural catastrophe and non-catastrophe exposures Ensure the Syndicate meets or exceeds maturity expectations under the Lloyd’s Principles Based Oversight framework, representing Carbon effectively to external stakeholders including Asta, our third-party managing agent, and Lloyd’s Support our underwriters with regular exposure reports and guidance to enable them to optimise their portfolios and make informed underwriting decisions Oversee the running of catastrophe models as part of ad hoc pricing and regular Lloyd’s reporting Work with our technology team to optimise our exposure management processes, including maintaining links between Graphene, our in-house technology platform, and catastrophe modelling software Work with our underwriters to ensure models are configured as accurately as possible Develop and justify Carbon’s view of risk Produce regulatory exposure management reports and ensure submission requirements and deadlines are met Ensure catastrophe exposure is well understood, measured and clearly communicated across the business Required Education/Training & Experience At least 5 years catastrophe modelling experience including AIR Touchstone Wider exposure management expertise London market experience, including delegated authority underwriting Understanding of the Lloyd’s Principles Based Oversight framework and the sub-principles for catastrophe exposure management Excellent communicator Desirable Education/Training & Experience Managing regulatory relationships Leading and managing others Model validation experience Coding knowledge and understanding of vendor model APIs Atmospheric Physics, Geophysics degree
