This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Expert Software Engineer (Backend) - Remote in the United States.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems that power mission-critical applications in a cloud-based environment. You will work on scalable, robust, and secure microservices architectures, primarily in Azure, applying modern software engineering practices to deliver high-quality solutions. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, participate in technical leadership, and mentor other engineers while driving projects from conception to release. This role emphasizes performance, maintainability, and automation to support fast, reliable delivery. You will contribute to complex distributed systems and leverage AI-assisted development tools to optimize coding and deployment workflows. The position offers an opportunity to impact healthcare solutions that serve millions of users while working in a fully remote and collaborative environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Architect and develop backend solutions, including microservices, APIs, and cloud-based workflows in Azure.
  • Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable code in C#/.NET, ASP.NET, and ASP.NET Core.
  • Design and implement data access layers, including SQL Server schemas, stored procedures, and Entity Framework Core.
  • Develop and maintain unit and functional tests to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Act as rotating Scrum Master to guide agile teams and track project progress.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance, scalability, and security issues.
  • Advocate for best practices, tools, and processes to enhance code quality and team productivity.
  • Leverage AI-powered coding tools to improve development efficiency and maintainability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in C#/.NET development with strong object-oriented programming skills.
  • Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Expertise with Azure services including App Services, Functions, Service Bus, APIM, Key Vault, App Configuration, and Application Insights.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with architecture patterns, caching, retry policies, queuing, and distributed system design.
  • Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer, Tabnine, etc.).
  • Preferred experience in healthcare or EMR/EHR integration, and familiarity with HL7 standards.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills with a passion for continuous learning and technical excellence.
