About the role

We are seeking an Environmental Technician to join our EHS team in Carrigaline. This role offers a balanced mix of activities with approximately 50% of the time spent on the factory floor and 50% desk‑based work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for environmental monitoring and reporting, including wastewater testing and environmental impact assessments. This role requires someone who is hands‑on, curious, and proactive, able to actively follow up, gather information, and drive actions forward.

This is a full-time, permanent, on-site role.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly wastewater testing and maintain accurate and compliant records.
  • Carry out environmental impact assessments as required.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractor activities, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and site requirements.
  • Manage waste permits, licenses, and waste streams in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and manage air emissions and effluent discharge licenses.
  • Conduct on-site environmental audits and support regulatory inspections as required.
  • Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ISO14001 in collaboration with the HSE Manager.
  • Monitor dust and ammonia levels on site and report findings as required.
  • Forklift operation (occasional): Not mandatory; training can be provided. Required only on an ad‑hoc basis (e.g. moving IBCs or empty wheelie bins) when needed.

Qualifications and skills

  • Experience working with environmental permits, licenses, and regulatory documentation is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately monitor, analyse and report environmental data.
  • Good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across departments.
  • A proactive, self-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
