Environmental Project Director (Remote - US)

The Environmental Project Director will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex environmental remediation projects across the United States and its territories. This role involves managing technical and administrative project aspects, overseeing project teams, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders, mentoring and training project staff, and contributing to business development efforts. Projects span a range of environmental challenges, including soil, sediment, mine waste, groundwater treatment, and landfill or thermal remediation. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment while making a tangible impact on environmental restoration and protection.

Accountabilities

• Manage technical and administrative aspects of environmental remediation projects, including CERCLA Remedial Actions (RAs), Operations & Maintenance (O&M), and long-term monitoring (LTM) phases.
• Lead, direct, and mentor project managers and team members to ensure quality project execution and deliverables.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and scope to meet corporate and client expectations.
• Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, project teams, and company leadership.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful outcomes.
• Support business development initiatives, including leading or assisting with proposals.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• 15+ years of hands-on experience managing environmental remediation projects for federal clients.
• Experience with soil, sediment, mine waste remediation, in-situ and ex-situ groundwater treatment, and landfill or thermal remediation.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) and project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
• Ability to travel up to 35% to support project sites.
• Experience with USACE 3-phase Quality Control process and RMS Information Management System is highly desirable.
• Experience with residential yard Remedial Actions for lead in soil, PFAS/PFOA projects, or mining/sediment remediation is a strong plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
