This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Engineering Project Manager in the United States.
In this role, you will lead and manage complex engineering projects, driving the design, build, and improvement of distribution facilities and processes. You will oversee multiple project components, ensuring alignment with budgets, schedules, and quality standards. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and contractors to deliver projects ranging from $1M to over $20M. You will develop project charters, manage capital expenditures, and implement best practices in project execution. The position offers significant exposure to warehouse operations, automation systems, and business process optimization. It also provides opportunities to lead teams, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to the overall strategic goals of large-scale engineering initiatives. Travel up to 75% may be required.
Accountabilities:
The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing project components while ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes:
· Assist in developing project charters and defining design/implementation requirements.
· Manage assigned scope, including material handling equipment, warehouse systems, building modifications, and other project elements.
· Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with internal departments and external vendors.
· Track project budgets, timelines, and expenditures, issuing or approving purchase orders as required.
· Generate timely communication on project status, risks, and pending issues.
· Support supplier specifications, RFP development, contractual negotiations, and project plan execution.
· Oversee testing, training, and startup activities for assigned project components.
· Ensure alignment with overall project objectives and facilitate collaboration across teams.
Requirements
Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership, technical knowledge, and project management experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or PMP preferred).
· 7+ years of experience in project management, project engineering, or related roles.
· Proven experience managing automation or construction projects exceeding $5M per project.
· Knowledge of warehouse operations, warehouse design, material handling equipment, and business systems.
· Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing project budgets.
· Proficiency with project management tools (Microsoft Project, Excel, Access, AutoCAD, Word, PowerPoint).
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
· Ability to adapt plans to changing business requirements and drive results through internal and external resources.
· Prior experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies is a plus.
