We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and inspire a high-performing software development team. This role involves guiding technical strategy, mentoring engineers, and overseeing the full lifecycle of projects from concept to delivery. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes while balancing speed and innovation. Accountabilities:
- Take end-to-end ownership of team projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
- Mentor and guide engineers within your team and occasionally across other teams, fostering growth and skill development.
- Drive technical decisions, including architecture, design, and tooling, while occasionally contributing hands-on code or code reviews.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and other stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and priorities.
- Support recruiting efforts, including candidate interviews, technical assessments, and engagement initiatives such as tech talks and blogs.
- Promote team performance, enforce best practices, and uphold high-quality standards across all engineering work.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, executives, and partners to align on technical vision and project progress.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience managing small to medium software development teams in an agile environment.
- 8+ years of experience in senior engineering roles, designing APIs, abstractions, and tools used by other engineers.
- Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft .NET technology stack (C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web APIs) and SQL databases.
- Strong understanding of HTML5, JavaScript, and experience with TypeScript and React is a plus.
- Experience with Git, unit testing, debugging, profiling, and performance monitoring.
- Knowledge of distributed architecture best practices.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
- B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with occasional hands-on technical contributions.
