Mission
Are you ready to take part in the upcoming AI revolution of the business world? Do you see yourself capable of using GenAI to disrupt the Engineering Build Process? If the answer is a resounding "yes," we have an extraordinary opportunity for you!

About Us
Aily Labs, founded in 2020, is an exciting and rapidly growing startup based in Munich, Barcelona, Madrid and Cluj. With a team consisting of over 300 passionate and skilled ML Engineers, Data Scientists and Developers.  We are dedicated to our ambitious objective of democratizing AI.

We have harnessed cutting-edge technology to develop an exceptional AI mobile app that goes beyond conventional solutions. By seamlessly providing immediate business insights, we are poised to revolutionize the corporate landscape.

Our vision is to establish ourselves as the preferred platform for AI-driven decision-making, setting new standards in the industry. We firmly believe that our state-of-the-art technology empowers organizations to make faster and more intelligent choices.

By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of this transformative movement, shaping the future of intelligent decision-making in remarkable ways.  As an Engineering Manager at Aily, you own the outcomes of your team: turning strategy into a focused roadmap, making hard trade‑offs, and ensuring predictable delivery against agreed goals. You are obsessed with priorities and transparent progress, so that every sprint moves the product and the business metrics that matter.

Responsibilities
  • Own the definition and delivery of monthly and weekly goals for your team, in partnership with Product and AI Principals, ensuring they are specific, measurable and directly tied to business impact
  • Maintain a single, transparent source of truth for roadmap, priorities, and status in JIRA and review it with stakeholders on a weekly basis
  • Continuously track progress against commitments using clear metrics and proactively unblock or re‑scope when risk to goals appears
  • Run effective planning and refinement: make trade‑offs explicit, cut or postpone low‑impact work, and ensure the team is always working on the highest‑leverage items
  • Translate company and product strategy into 2–3 clear focus areas for the team per month and communicate them so every engineer knows “what matters now” and “what success looks like”
  • Use data to drive improvements: define and monitor a small set of team KPIs (e.g. lead time, defect rate, on‑time delivery, system SLOs) and lead experiments to improve them
  • Conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews that explicitly link individual goals to team and company goals, and track progress over time
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company’s values
  • Look after our engineers and help them grow
  • This is not a hands-on role, i.e., not a tech lead
Your profile
  • Proven ability to turn high‑level business objectives into a prioritized engineering roadmap and clear, trackable goals
  • Demonstrable experience running data‑driven delivery (OKRs, team KPIs, or similar) and reporting progress to stakeholders at different levels.
  • Track record of converting impossible goals into smaller achievable ones while planning for longer term complete solutions to protect focus and ensure teams deliver on their highest‑impact commitments.
  • Strong command of agile delivery tools and practices (e.g. backlog management, forecasting, metrics), using them to create visibility rather than bureaucracy
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering or a relevant field
  • 3+ yrs. experience in a people management role
  • At least 5+ years of experience as a Developer or QA. Full-stack experience a plus
  • Ability to manage new technical directions for projects critical to the company’s success
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in English at all levels
  • Scrum/Kanban experience a plus
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in fast-paced, complex situations
  • Ability to drive thorough refinement sessions with the team
  • Refined sense of prioritisation based in impact generation
  • Demonstrable ability to drive improvements through metrics
  • You are uncomfortable when goals are vague or unmeasured and naturally push to clarify “what success looks like” before committing the team
At Aily, engineering teams work in short feedback loops, with a small set of clearly defined goals and visible metrics per month. Engineering Managers are expected to constantly align priorities with product and business stakeholders, maintain radical transparency on progress and risks, and adjust the plan quickly when reality changes.
