Position #: 195135 Expected Start Date: October 15, 2025 Union: HSAS Facility: Kyle Health Centre City/Town: Kyle Department: Ambulance - Land Type: Part-time regular FTE: 0.75 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Hours of Work: 112.00 hours per 4 week rotation Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: No Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption: No Education Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP) Licenses Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training Current CPR certification Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS) International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Competencies Verbal communication skills Listening skills Written Communication Skills Basic - Interpersonal skills Knowledge and Abilities Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook) Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Ability to be resilient Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. Ability to exhibit situational awareness Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues Other Information Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period. Must be able to respond to the ambulance within 10 minutes when on-call Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement
