PLEASE NOTE THIS POST IS ONLY OPEN TO INTERNAL APPLICANTS Organisation: Leicestershire County Council Work Location: County Hall, Glenfield LE3 8RA Worker Category: Hybrid Worker Salary: £32,070- £34,359 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) Working Hours: 37 Hours per week Contract Type: Fixed term for (3 months) Secondment for ( 3 months) Closing Date:17th December 2025 Interview Date(s): TBC About the Role We are seeking a proactive and skilled Communications and Engagement Support Officer to lead the redevelopment and improvement of our Inclusion website and strengthen communication with schools, parents, carers and young people. The current site requires clearer navigation, more accurate information and a more user-focused structure, and this role will be central to delivering those improvements. Working closely with services across the system and reporting to Jane Elmer, Service Manager for Education Quality, Performance and Change, you will play a key part in ensuring our online presence is accessible, informative and responsive to the needs of our community. .For information on our approach to the recruitment of ex-offenders, please see our policy statement. About You To apply for this post, you must: Experience of working with children and young people with SEND — using co-production approaches This includes meaningful involvement of CYP and families in shaping services, decision-making and feedback processes. Experience of empowering and advocating for children, young people and families The ability to ensure CYP voices are heard, respected and acted upon is central to the role. Strong communication skills — written, verbal and across multiple audiences Including children and families, senior leaders, elected members, partners, and wider public audiences; able to present persuasive, accessible information. Ability to build effective collaborative working relationships with partners Across education, health, social care, voluntary/community sectors, and parent/carer groups. Knowledge of statutory responsibilities around the SEND Local Offer and family information duties Understanding the legislative framework and compliance requirements. Ability to analyse information and highlight areas for improvement To inform communication planning, engagement work and service improvement. Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and manage competing demands Ensuring deadlines are met in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment. You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
