There is one specified purpose whole time vacancy available for 24 months - Reassignment is grade to grade and current remuneration applies

The successful candidate will be based on one of the two main Dublin & South East Regional Technology & Transformation sites. If based in Kilkenny the post holder will be required to travel to the Dublin Office regularly and as required

Purpose of the Post

The DSE CCIO role is to continually improve the healthcare of patients and service users utilising their clinical expertise and leadership in the design and delivery of clinical solutions in conjunction with the CCD, RDTT and wider T&T team. S/He will ensure clinical adoption and engagement in the use of technology, drive continuous clinical process improvements, focus on patient and service user outcomes and support the development of clinical information and organisational reform.

The DSE CCIO is the clinical business change lead for the development of digital enabled health solutions. S/He provides clinical leadership and information development activity to support the safe and efficient design, implementation and use of informatics solutions to deliver improvements in the quality and outcomes of care. In addition, the DSE CCIO provides advice and support to T&T management through their role in Region T&T Governance. The post holder will also provide expert clinical informatics advice and guidance; working collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure patient and clinical involvement in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of systems and services.

The DSE CCIO will help define and update the Regional strategy and implementation plan to improve patient safety, quality of care and operational performance along with research and education across clinical services.

The DSE CCIO will work in conjunction with the Regional Director of Technology & Transformation to plan/ design/ adopt the new solutions that will be needed to deliver the vision of the region and HSE, and its integration with the wider Digital Health Program. The CCIO will represent all the clinical workforces and ensure that all solutions are enablers of improved clinical care.
