You are a Director of Content Strategy.

ChangeMakers has an exciting opportunity for you as a seasoned digital content professional who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, can lead content projects collaboratively, and can offer a thoughtful and strategic understanding of the modern digital content ecosystem—encompassing social media, website, email, SEO/AI search, and creator/influencer best practices.
You lead the development and execution of integrated content marketing programs designed to drive business outcomes through meaningful engagement across diverse digital platforms (both earned and owned), addressing a wide cross-section of client industries and objectives.

ChangeMakers is seeking an innovative leader who thrives as part creative storyteller and part data-analyst. Success in this role requires strong content marketing instincts, a deep understanding of digital platforms, and the ability to translate data into insights that power breakthrough content strategies.
The Director, Content Strategy will reside within our content and social media team. This role brings forward new content opportunities (programs, services, products) that address ChangeMakers’ client objectives in partnership with our wider Innovation team (Digital Experience, Paid Media, and Data Intelligence), ensuring best practices for integrated and successful digital communications outcomes.
What Are Your Responsibilities?
Content Insights and Recommendations
- Lead the development of integrated content audits, in partnership with Innovation team members, that identify opportunities for growth and performance improvement
- Research digital audience behaviour (user journeys) to identify relevant audience and cultural insights that inform strategic recommendations
Content Strategy Development
- Build integrated content strategies for clients informed by data-insights and audit findings
- Content strategies include platform recommendations, content themes and formats, creator opportunities, and a go-to-market distribution plan that addresses communications objectives and client goals
Content Marketing Program Executionâ¯
- Lead the creative brief process, providing clarity and direction to internal creative team members, production partners, and creators
- Oversee the development of content formats that align with a strategic plan and are optimized for platform-specific performance
- Work with project managers and creative team members to ensure timely production of copy, photography, design, animation, video, motion content formats
Measurement & Performance Optimizationâ¯
- Work with data insights team members to monitor, measure, optimize, and report on content performance (reach, engagement, audience sentiment, business outcomes)
- Translate performance results into insights that optimize future content and channel decisions and identify new content opportunities and partnerships
Content Marketing Leadership
- Manage, mentor, and grow junior and intermediate content marketing talent and skills within ChangeMakers
- Support Innovation team with strategic training opportunities and new product/service development that address client needs/gaps within owned digital ecosystems and within the current climate of AI enablement
AI-Enabled Workflow and Productization
- In partnership with Innovation team members, leverage existing and bespoke AI tools to synthesize insights, streamline workflows, and generate AI powered content
- Support Innovation team members in identifying opportunities to pilot new LLM based tools and products
What Type of Qualities and Qualifications Should I Have?
- 7-10+ years of experience in social media, or content strategy, or digital marketing, within an agency (PR, marketing) environment
- A track record for developing digital content strategies across social media, web, email, search, and influencer/creator platformsâ¯
- Deep understanding of social platforms, content trends, algorithms, LLMs, and content formats across platforms such as TikTok, Meta, X, LinkedIn, Threads, YouTube, Sora (OpenAI)
- A strategic storyteller, able to translate insights, trends, and audience behaviours into compelling, actionable, platform-centric content that drives audience engagement
- Working understanding of SEO and SEM practices, including AI search/discovery (GEO)
- Familiarity with managing creator/influencer content partnerships, including briefs, deliverables, and performance tracking
- Understanding of creative digital storytelling formats and storytelling criteria for driving audience outcomes
- Culturally curious, with enthusiastic awareness of new digital trends, platform shifts and product offerings
- Experience working with AI/LLMs to drive efficiencies for content insights, content performance, content planning, and/or content productionâ¯
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in social monitoring, analytics, and reporting tools; familiar with performance measurement frameworks.â¯
