Role description: We are seeking a proactive, forward-thinking Digital Cost Manager to join our innovative team. This role blends core cost management and quantity surveying responsibilities with modern digital practices to drive efficiency, data-driven decision making, and enhanced project delivery at scale. You will champion 5D BIM, analytics, low-code automation, and robust information management aligned to ISO 19650, while contributing to business change and continuous improvement using Lean principles. Role accountabilities: Cost Management: Manage budgets, cost plans, estimates, and change control. Tendering & Procurement: Oversee tendering, bid evaluations, and contract administration. Measurement & Valuation (5D BIM): Deliver model-based quantification and valuation using tools like CostX/Navisworks; maintain cost libraries and benchmarking datasets. Data & Reporting: Build dashboards (Power BI), integrate cost/schedule/risk data; apply SQL/Python for data transformation and quality control. Information Management & Governance: Embed ISO 19650-compliant practices; ensure data governance, lineage, and cyber security. Digital Process Improvement: Map and optimise workflows using Lean/BPMN; deploy low-code apps (Power Apps/Automate) for automation. Planning & Risk Integration: Integrate cost with planning (4D/5D) and risk analysis; support sustainability and whole-life value. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: Provide governance, compliance, and stakeholder engagement across PMO and delivery teams. Qualifications & Experience: Essential Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial/Construction Management, Cost Engineering, or related field, with 5+ years’ experience in QS/cost management across construction, infrastructure, energy, or engineering. NEC4 experience MRICS (or working towards) Proficiency in BIM and 5D tools, cost and commercial platforms, and collaboration systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and data storytelling, adaptability, and proven ability to drive digital change. Curiosity, structured problem-solving, ownership, collaboration, resilience, and integrity in handling commercial and data ethics. Desirable Advanced Excel and Power BI for modelling and visualisation; SQL/Python for data manipulation highly desirable; familiarity with APIs and data integration. Experience in process mapping and optimisation (Lean/BPMN), planning interfaces (P6/MS Project), earned value, and exposure to cost/schedule risk techniques. Training in one or more of: Lean Six Sigma (any level), ISO 19650 Practitioner, TOGAF, Data Science/Computer Science, Cyber Security, or Systems Engineering. Digital leadership in transformation, programming/scripting (Python, DAX/M, VBA), sustainability cost–carbon tools, and continuous learning mindset. Why Arcadis?
