This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a DevSecOps Engineer - Clearance Required in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a high-impact defense program focused on modernizing Army training systems through cloud-native, enterprise-level solutions. As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will integrate security controls, automation, and compliance throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring that applications meet stringent Department of Defense requirements. You will design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and security testing tools while collaborating closely with development and cybersecurity teams. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, hands-on engineering, and adherence to best practices in DevSecOps. You will also mentor teams on secure coding practices and help maintain compliance with DoD policies. This position requires an active Secret clearance and offers the chance to contribute to a critical mission in a collaborative and agile environment.

Accountabilities

  • Design, extend, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and IaC tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Integrate security testing tools (SAST, DAST, SCA, IAST) into CI/CD pipelines and ensure automated enforcement of security policies.
  • Build and manage AWS GovCloud environments following DevSecOps best practices.
  • Provide guidance and training to development teams on secure coding and effective use of security tools.
  • Participate in threat modeling, security architecture reviews, and compliance activities.
  • Implement and automate DoD STIGs for operating systems, middleware, and application stacks.
  • Respond rapidly to system needs and provide surge support as required.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure continuous monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and incident response.

Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6+ years of experience in AWS cloud engineering and automation.
  • Hands-on expertise in CI/CD automation (GitLab CI, CircleCI, Jenkins) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Experience supporting secure DoD systems, including RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and STIG compliance.
  • Preferred: experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift), AWS Security certifications, FedRAMP/FISMA knowledge, SAFe Agile certification, and experience supporting U.S. Army cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and presentation skills.
