This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Development Manager, ERCOT in the United States.
In this role, you will drive the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects across multiple regions, with a focus on the ERCOT market. You will manage projects from greenfield identification through financial close, coordinating cross-functional teams and consultants to ensure successful execution. This position requires strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on management of project budgets, schedules, and permitting activities. You will build and maintain relationships with landowners, regulators, and community stakeholders while advancing a robust project pipeline. Frequent travel within the region is expected to oversee project progress and foster partnerships. The role provides an opportunity to influence renewable energy growth and contribute meaningfully to a cleaner energy future.
Accountabilities:
- Implement regional strategies to identify, evaluate, and develop solar, wind, and battery storage projects from inception to financial close.
- Lead greenfield site identification, land agreement negotiations, and acquisition of local, state, and federal permits.
- Oversee real estate surveys, title work, tax agreements, and development-related due diligence.
- Engage with community stakeholders to foster support and maintain positive relationships with landowners and local representatives.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants for resource assessments, environmental studies, and permitting.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and technical/commercial activities throughout the development lifecycle.
- Support origination and finance teams with off-take analysis, revenue planning, and financial modeling.
- Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to prepare projects for execution and present updates to investment committees.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing multiple renewable energy development projects, including expertise in planning, permitting, legal, finance, or engineering.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage external consultants.
- Experience negotiating agreements and maintaining relationships with landowners, regulators, and community stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet-based research tools.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to travel 30–50% within the region and walk undeveloped land; valid driver’s license required.
- Familiarity with ERCOT market dynamics and renewable energy project development is highly preferred.
