We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Financial Data Analyst. Markets Finance IT is a dynamic global team of close to 500 colleagues that build & support high profile Regulatory, Product Control, other Finance Systems & Data Warehouses around the world including UK, China, India, Hong Kong & Poland. The current book of work is driven by the Front To Back Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) programme, a multi-year initiative set up not only to comply with future regulatory deliveries but also to implement critical changes to the Global Markets system infrastructure with a focus on fixing problem at source as well as simplifying and standardising business processes, achieving an architecture that better integrates & aligns FO, Traded Risk, Finance & Product Control. A broad range of technologies are used across Finance IT as our systems consolidate data from a variety of sources (e.g. Trading, Back Office, Accounting, Market & Reference Data Systems) covering various asset classes including FX, Rates, Credit, Commodities, Equities, Fixed Income. The FRTB programme however is driving the migration and consolidation of complex data sourcing for these systems on to a Big Data based architecture; the first work stream went live in 2017 & there are continual deliveries planned over the coming years. In this role you will: • Model data for Finance and Regulatory Reporting systems and write data mapping specifications using SQL. • Analyse functional and non-functional requirements while adhering to HSBC's standards and data modelling principles. • Participate in analysis, testing, and support activities, and take ownership of tasks in bi-weekly sprint cycles. • Work closely with Finance Change, upstream providers, and downstream consumers to ensure data requirements are met. • Quickly resolve defects and data quality issues, and seek opportunities to document, standardise, and automate processes. • Oversee production batch execution, ensuring efficiency, timely completion, and comprehensive documentation and reporting. To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: • Strong finance background with expertise in OTCs, Credit Derivatives, Interest Rate Derivatives, and experience in data modelling across various financial data types. • Demonstrated ability to liaise with upstream systems and ensure end-to-end clarity of requirements across multiple teams, effectively engaging with stakeholders. • Excellent ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and senior stakeholders. • Broad experience with ETL processes, data warehouse systems, and database technologies like SQL Server and Oracle, alongside knowledge of SDLC tools such as JIRA, Jenkins, and Git. • Proficient in Spark SQL, Git, XML/XSD, JSON/Protobuf, REST APIs, and CICD Pipelines would be beneficial. • Skilled in Python for developing, testing, and automating processes, with strong SQL writing and interpretation abilities would be beneficial.
