Data & AI Engineering Lead

Coders Connect is proud to be partnering with Sanofi to support the growth of their AI Workflow Engineering team, a cutting-edge group leading global initiatives in intelligent automation and GenAI deployment. Based in Paris, this role offers the chance to work on a truly unique project, deploying AI agents at scale across an international enterprise. As a Lead Data Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the design, delivery, and evolution of data architectures powering Sanofi’s next-generation AI workflows. You’ll lead a small team of engineers, setting the technical direction while staying hands-on with architecture and implementation. What you'll do: Lead the design and delivery of data pipelines, datamarts, and AI workflows, ensuring scalability, compliance, and performance. Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust technical architectures. Work with architects and software engineers to build Snowflake-based datamarts, leveraging DBT, Airflow, and Python for orchestration and automation. Define and continuously refine DataOps and MLOps practices, integrating CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions and Terraform on AWS. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a small team, fostering growth and accountability. Ensure data quality and observability through testing, validation, and proactive monitoring. Integrate GenAI, RAG pipelines, and agentic AI systems into enterprise production workflows. Requirements You are a hands-on data engineering leader with a passion for building high-performing teams and architecting scalable data ecosystems. You thrive at the intersection of data, AI, and automation. Designing solutions that make AI workflows reliable, efficient, and business-impactful. Proven experience leading end-to-end data engineering projects from concept to production. Deep expertise in Snowflake, Airflow, DBT, Python, AWS, Terraform, and GitHub Actions. Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database design. Knowledge of MLOps and DataOps principles, including observability, reproducibility, and CI/CD standards. Experience integrating GenAI, RAG, or Agentic AI pipelines into large-scale environments. Understanding of regulated data environments and compliance best practices. Excellent leadership and mentorship abilities. Strong communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders. Analytical, structured, and proactive in problem-solving and delivery. Service-oriented and highly collaborative team player. 6–8 years of experience in data engineering, ideally within enterprise or global settings. Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Experience in the healthcare or regulated industry is a strong plus.
