Join us as an intern on a 12-month industrial placement in the Consumer Imaging & Print Channel Marketing Team and discover the world of Canon, where we use imaging to transform our world. Here at Canon UK, we believe in creating an environment where our interns really can learn by doing and where they are given their own areas of responsibility right from the start of their time with us. That’s why you’ll be treated as part of the team from day one, encouraged to bring your own ideas to the table – and given the opportunity to really show what you can do. You’ll be gaining real life marketing experience, assuming real responsibility and making an impact from the get-go. On this fast-paced placement we are looking for customer minded individuals with a self-motivated approach to work, used to working in a high pressure, time sensitive environment with the ability to manage multiple timelines simultaneously. What awaits you? You will be assigned specific tasks as well as defined projects, which will be based upon business needs and the strategic activity to support longer term goals. You will use your analytical skills to monitor performance and take appropriate action to resolve or escalate issues as appropriate. Working towards your own objectives, you will solicit feedback, design and execute project plans, identify measures of success and generate ideas for improvement. Along with a commercial mind set, your innovative thinking will allow you to demonstrate your passion in developing robust marketing concepts. Occasionally, you will represent Canon at events and exhibitions where you need to have confidence in supporting the Canon brand. You will provide support to our account managers and retailers by meeting and handling queries over phone, by email and face to face. You will also have ownership of a set project, key product area or an important retail account within the team, and work with the Sales team and Product and Channel team to support this. You will also be part of a marketing project planning team and will have the opportunity to learn about best practice and to share your ideas in a compelling way. Working in collaboration with Product, Sales and PR & Communications teams, you will provide additional support to the wider team on marketing activities as required. Examples of areas/channels you will experience: account-based marketing activity, in-store and online campaigns, liaising with design and print agencies, product launches, events and exhibitions, incentive schemes, digital services, eCRM, and more…!
