The Role:

Uisce Éireann IT (UÉ IT) provides IT services and support to the wider Uisce Éireann business and across the Local Authority user base. IT Operations is responsible for all operational run activities across Applications, Operational Technology, Service Management and Infrastructure. The Applications teams are responsible for implementing, upgrading and supporting all Uisce Éireann applications (C2M, , Maximo, Click, Syclo, Middleware, Oracle Financials, GIS, HR specific, SharePoint and Service Now etc.). including those built on the Dynamics 365 platform such as CDS, EIMS and SIMS. The Applications teams also have a pivotal role to play in the implementation of new applications for the organisation, working with the IT Build & Delivery area.

Reporting to the Customer Applications Team Lead, the Water Applications Functional Analyst - (Customer) will be responsible for ensuring that the Customer systems (Customer to Meter (C2M)  meet the ongoing and evolving needs of the Customer business area.  

The Customer Applications Functional Analyst will work with the following Customer systems;  Customer to Meter (C2M).
 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Possess a strong understanding of the Customer business end to end processes and requirements including interface requirements with other (non- Customer) systems 
  • Supporting the Water Application Lead – (Customer) in coordinating Customer application testing and assurance activities  
  • Understanding the data requirements of the Customer business area and working with the Water Application Lead – (Customer) to identify how these can be optimally delivered by the Customer applications   
  • Liaising with the wider IT teams to ensure the ongoing delivery and support of Customer applications and solutions   
  • Overseeing Customer projects through all phases from initiation to completion, working with the Applications Build & Delivery team as required 
  • Carrying out user support and training in Customer systems 
  • Contributing to the preparation of systems design and development standards and guidelines
  • Keeping up to date on IT issues and developments relating to Customer systems 
  • Liaising with external resources/service providers as required 
  • Monitoring any potential risks and highlighting these to the Water Applications Lead – (Customer) as required 
  • Liaise with the Customer Operations function to ensure all application needs are being met, and work with the Customer teams to identify potential issues  
  • Keep up to date with best practice and development in Customer applications 
  • Other duties as required from time to time.

 

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
  • Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards
  • Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives
  • Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation
  • Other duties as required.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant third level degree or equivalent with at least three years’ relevant experience, ideally with a company in a related sector e.g. utilities, telecommunications, financial services 
  • Relevant experience in the water industry is desirable 
    In depth knowledge of Customer systems including Oracle Customer to Meter (C2M)   desirable
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships (both internal and external) with excellent influencing and negotiation skills 
  • Ability to ensure the successful execution of solution delivery projects by aligning cost, service and product selection to business needs and expectations 
  • Ability to translate strategic priorities into operational reality, demonstrating strong decision-making skills 
  • Strong commercial focus while keeping overall financial perspective  
  • Desire to maintain specialised knowledge through association with defined professional bodies
