Job Description

Our client is seeking a Corporate Accountant for a contract position in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In this role, you will support corporate functions and business operations, leveraging strong technical accounting expertise, excellent verbal and written communication, and proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Month-end and quarter-end analysis
  • Year-end preparation
  • General ledger reconciliations
  • Journal entries
  • Working paper preparation
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support data gathering and efficiency
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and other duties as required

Experience & Attributes for Success:

  • Post-secondary education in accounting or finance
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar accounting role
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel & Word
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
