As part of the plant leadership team, the Continuous Improvement Manager plays a key role in driving performance, efficiency, and engagement across the Bethune site.
This position acts as a facilitator and change leader, ensuring that global CI initiatives are successfully translated and adapted to local challenges and opportunities.

 

What you’ll be doing.

  • You lead and deploy Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies (MDI, PDCA, 5S, SMED) across the site.
  • You foster a culture of continuous improvement, empowering teams to identify and implement process enhancements.
  • You coach and support production and support functions in problem-solving and cost reduction projects.
  • You lead and monitor cross-functional improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with plant strategy.
  • You facilitate the translation of global CI standards into site-relevant practices.
  • You manage and develop a small team (CI Engineer, Training Manager, Apprentice).
  • You contribute to the plant’s energy performance and productivity improvement plans.
  • You are an active member of the site leadership team, collaborating closely with all departments.

What you’ll need to be successful.

  • Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Engineering, Industrial Management or related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing or continuous improvement roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles (Green Belt certification preferred).
  • Proven ability to coach, lead, and influence across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience working in a medium-sized industrial site, ideally in the food or process industry.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with operational pragmatism.
  • Fluent in French and comfortable communicating in English (meetings with leadership).
  • Positive, engaging, and collaborative personality — someone who creates connection and energy within teams.

About the team.

You’ll report directly to the Plant Director and be part of the Matougues Leadership Team (13 members).
You’ll lead a team of three (1 CI Engineer, 1 Training Manager, 1 Apprentice) and collaborate daily with production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain departments.
The current CI Manager will remain until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition and onboarding.
