Community Network Support Officer Permanent Grade C - £35,412 - £44,075 Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review Working 36.5 hours per week Birmingham City Council Adult Social Care – Community Network Support Service Birmingham City Council is recruiting a Community Network Support Officer to join its forward-thinking, citizen-focused service based in welcoming Community Hubs across the city. As part of an exciting improvement journey, the Council places Early Intervention and Prevention at the heart of its approach—offering high-quality support, information, and guidance to help citizens remain independent and thrive. In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for individuals and families, delivering holistic, person-centred support that builds resilience and reduces reliance on statutory Adult Social Care. You will manage caseloads and work collaboratively with local partners to coordinate tailored interventions that meet diverse needs. Key Responsibilities Build trusting relationships with citizens facing complex or challenging life situations Deliver early intervention and preventative support to reduce escalation of needs Collaborate with diverse communities to address health, social, and wellbeing priorities Provide person-centred support that promotes independence, resilience, and self-advocacy Help citizens access and coordinate services, resources, and financial assistance Facilitate citizen involvement in community and council initiatives to influence policy Identify and respond to safety and safeguarding concerns in partnership with services Map and understand local community strengths, resources, and gaps to promote inclusivity Maintain accurate records, collate data, and use Microsoft tools effectively Build and sustain strong working relationships with colleagues, partners, and community assets Advise on local issues affecting citizens with diverse needs to inform service planning What We’re Looking For Inclusive and empathetic, with a commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion Creative problem-solvers, able to act decisively and compassionately Effective communicator, Strong interpersonal and communication skills Collaborative team players, experienced in working with local services and communities Flexible and adaptable, willing to work across locations and support evening/weekend delivery Safeguarding-aware, with a strong understanding of risk, vulnerability, and support pathways Please upload an up-to-date CV and Personal Statement via the attachments part of your application.
