Community Engagement Specialist

About Somnia:

We are building Somnia, a fast and cost-effective EVM-based blockchain, to achieve this. Somnia is a layer-one blockchain with full EVM compatibility, capable of processing over 1,000,000 transactions per second with sub-second latency and low fees. This will unlock a new wave of on-chain applications. Initially, we are focusing on gaming, metaverse, and social experiences. But we are not even 100% certain of what can be built with the technology we are creating.

Somnia is being developed by Somnia Foundation backed by Improbable, a British start-up that has been at the forefront of building virtual worlds for over a decade. Somnia received initial funding from MSquared, which raised $150 million in funding from a16z crypto, SoftBank, Mirana Ventures, CMT Digital, and SIG.

The Role

We're looking for a Community Engagement Specialist who can grow and expand our community through creative campaigns, strategic partnerships, and KOL relationships. You'll be the connector - building bridges between our project and the wider Web3 community while driving user acquisition and engagement.

This role is perfect for someone who's a natural networker, deal-maker, and growth hacker rolled into one.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute community growth programs (campaigns, events, competitions) to promote the ecosystem

• Create and manage community activations that drive engagement and retention

• Coordinate cross-community collaborations and co-marketing initiatives

• Develop partnership strategies aligned with our growth objectives

• Track and report on partnership performance and campaign metrics

• Stay plugged into the Web3 ecosystem to identify new opportunities
  

You're a Great Fit If You:

• Have 1-3+ years of partnerships, BD, or growth experience in Web3/crypto

• Have hands-on experience running community growth and engagement campaigns

• Understand community dynamics and what drives engagement in Web3

• Are a self-starter who can work independently and hustle to make things happen

• Have strong negotiation and communication skills

• Are comfortable with data - you track metrics and iterate based on results

• Have deep connections and good understanding of DeFi/NFTs/gaming/L1s

• Experience with token incentive design

• Have experience at a high-growth Web3 startup

This role is initially part-time, and may grow into a full-time role.
Must be based in Asia / Europe.
