Commercial and Compliance Analyst Department: Finance Employment Type: Full Time Location: Bishops Stortford, UK Reporting To: Lucy Hogg Compensation: £35,000 - £40,000 / year Description The Commercial & Compliance Analyst will play a dual role in driving financial efficiency and ensuring organisational compliance. This position combines strong analytical capabilities with a focus on governance, supporting commercial decision-making while maintaining adherence to ISO standards, H&S, and data protection requirements. The role involves analysing revenue streams, cost structures and profitability, alongside monitoring compliance frameworks and supporting internal audits. Key Responsibilities Commercial Analysis Analyse financial data to assess revenue, costs, and profitability across departments and clients. Identify and eliminate unnecessary or outdated expenditure. Audit client accounts to ensure accurate billing and service alignment. Collaborate with Finance and Client Relationship teams to improve billing accuracy and cost recovery. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor financial performance. Support budgeting and forecasting processes with detailed financial insights. Provide recommendations to improve margins and reduce waste. Assist in pricing strategy and commercial modelling. Compliance & Governance Review management systems, H&S policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 27001, 22301, 14001 and H&S requirements. Assist with client and supplier due diligence processes. Monitor and manage Non-Conformance tickets, ensuring timely resolution. Support internal audits for ISO standards, including report writing and tracking corrective actions. Provide guidance on H&S best practice and UK Data Protection/GDPR compliance. Collate documentation and analyse data for ISO Management Reviews. Assist with development and delivery of compliance training modules; administer KnowBe4 training platform. Support business continuity exercises and environmental KPI reporting, including trend analysis for improvements. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities. Experience in financial analysis, cost control, and profitability reporting. Familiarity with CRM and billing systems. Knowledge of ISO management systems and compliance frameworks. Understanding of H&S legislation and UK Data Protection/GDPR requirements. Experience conducting internal audits against ISO standards. Ability to analyse data and produce clear, actionable reports. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Strong communication skills to work cross-functionally across Finance, Compliance, and Operational teams. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a commercial or compliance-focused role. HALO ITSM and Xero experience desirable.
