Saddle Tree Craftsman Job Summary

• The Saddle Tree Craftsman is responsible for the precise assembly, shaping, and finishing of wood and fiberglass saddle trees to customer and product specifications. This role requires attention to detail, familiarity with hand and power tools, and the ability to work in a small team environment to maintain production flow and quality standards.

Saddle Tree Craftsman Responsibilities

• Cut and shape wood parts using saws, routers, and sanding tools
• Assemble saddle tree components using adhesives, fasteners, and jigs
• Apply fiberglass coating and finish sanding of tree surfaces
• Follow detailed drawings, templates, and production instructions
• Inspect finished products for accuracy, symmetry, and quality
• Track materials and time per work order
• Maintain clean and organized workspaces and equipment
• Communicate material needs or defects to supervisor
• Adhere to shop safety procedures and wear PPE
• All other duties assigned by management

Saddle Tree Craftsman Skills and Competencies

• Experience with woodworking and carpentry tools
• High level of attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Ability to read templates, blueprints, or instructions
• Physical dexterity and comfort with repetitive hand tasks

Saddle Tree Craftsman Qualifications

• Previous woodworking or carpentry experience preferred
• Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and adhesives
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting

Work Environment

• Workshop environment with exposure to wood dust, adhesives, and moderate noise. Proper PPE such as eye protection, gloves, and masks may be required.

Physical Requirements

• Standing, bending, and working with hands (50%-100%)
• Lifting up to 40 lbs. frequently (33%-66%)
• Fine motor skills for shaping and finishing materials
