Role Impact:

Under general supervision, the Capital Markets & Portfolio Management (CMPM) Analyst conducts complex financial analyses, derives insights from data and develops reports to support the CMPM team.  In addition, the Analyst will assemble presentations and provide recommendations. to support the CMPM team across all initiatives including strategy, investments, portfolio analysis, and capital raising.

 

What you will deliver:

  • Assist in originating and executing public and private debt on behalf of Cadillac Fairview that may include asset level mortgages, corporate debt (credit facilities, revolvers), construction financing, CMHC multifamily financing, and public unsecured bond issuances in the United States and Canada
  • Assist in determining ideal use of capital and provide capital allocation recommendations within the portfolio management framework
  • Assist in managing Cadillac Fairview’s current debt portfolio including managing refinancing pricing, negotiating terms and conditions as it pertains to both third-party and related party debt
  • Support the team in interfacing and managing relationships with investment banks, lenders, institutional investors, rating agencies, and third-party capital providers
  • Assist in the development and management of financial models pertaining to portfolio management, investment management, performance tracking, scenario analyses, macroeconomic analyses, risk-return analyses, debt financing and third-party capital raising
  • Assist with ongoing portfolio management responsibilities in partnership with OTPP Real Estate Investments and Total Fund Management team with regards to CF’s long term capital planning
  • Participate in the research, analysis and execution of strategic initiatives including the execution of Cadillac Fairview’s 5-year corporate strategy
  • Assist in the preparation of Investment Committee and Board materials as it pertains to new financing transactions and portfolio updates
  • Assist in monthly and quarterly debt reporting to the Board while working closely with internal stakeholders including the Investments, Finance, Development, Tax and Treasury teams

What you need to succeed:                                                

  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline with top academic credentials
  • Academic or working experience in multi-sector real estate, private equity, development, investment banking, portfolio management, debt capital markets or equity capital markets
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling) and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Solid grounding in financial concepts, corporate finance and valuation
  • Ability to understand debt financing documentation and negotiations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure with multiple or competing deadlines
  • CA, CFA, an asset, but not required
  • 1-3 years of related experience

 

Starting base salary for this job level may range from $68,610 to $91,480. The actual base salary offered will consider several factors including, but not limited to the role, experiences, skills & qualifications, location, market and internal considerations; with this context, CF reserves the right to pay above this range.
