The Business Systems Architect, AI will lead the design, implementation, and governance of AI-powered internal systems across the organization. This role operates at the intersection of technology, architecture, and business enablement, helping define responsible and effective adoption of AI within enterprise workflows. You will evaluate AI capabilities across platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Notion, Workday, and Slack, ensuring secure, scalable, and impactful integrations. The position involves architecting the internal AI โfabric,โ including model orchestration and intuitive user interfaces for employees. You will collaborate with stakeholders across IT, Security, Engineering, and Legal to ensure AI adoption aligns with organizational goals. This role provides an opportunity to influence enterprise AI strategy, streamline workflows, and advance responsible AI use across the company.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for AI adoption, evaluation, and lifecycle management across enterprise applications.
- Lead technical design, integration, and governance of AI features within internal systems.
- Partner with application owners to define AI use cases, assess ROI, and evaluate risk and compliance implications.
- Establish architectural standards for AI models, APIs, and integrations, ensuring secure and scalable deployments.
- Co-lead the design and implementation of an AI Model Control Plane (MCP) matrix to orchestrate multiple AI systems.
- Support vendor selection, procurement, and integration of AI platforms and tools.
- Define lifecycle processes for AI-enabled applications, from evaluation through deprecation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices for model selection, governance, and monitoring.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise systems architecture, business systems engineering, or IT strategy.
- Deep understanding of SaaS application ecosystems (Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, Notion, etc.) and API/integration frameworks.
- Strong experience with AI/ML systems integration, model orchestration, embeddings, vector databases, and agent frameworks.
- Familiarity with MCP or modular AI orchestration frameworks and hands-on experience with AI platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.).
- Proven ability to design scalable architectures balancing innovation, usability, and compliance.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to translate technical solutions into business outcomes.
- Pragmatic approach with curiosity and passion for AI while ensuring responsible implementation.
- Preferred: experience with AI copilots/assistants, enterprise security and compliance frameworks (SOC2, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOX, ITGC).
