The Position:
As a Business Development Associate at Jonas Software, you will play a crucial role in sourcing and developing our acquisition pipeline—researching industry verticals, identifying acquisition targets, and building relationships with founders and executives of vertical market software businesses. You will report to the Director of Business Development and work closely with the portfolio’s senior management team.
You will be successful in this role if you are a people-person, have solid business acumen, love to continuously learn, and have a passion for creating and maintaining relationships. Financial literacy and an understanding of software and technology businesses are considered assets.
What your impact will be:
Identify, research, and map software markets to find attractive acquisition targets
Develop and execute prospecting campaigns through email, outbound calling, and in-person meetings, while effectively communicating our M&A value propositions
Clearly communicate the investment strategy, ensuring the investment process is handled with care and professionalism
Continuously research new industries, sub-sectors, and trends to spot emerging opportunities and provide value to the targets you engage with
Build and maintain relationships with software founders, owners, and decision-makers
Track all interactions, data, and insights in Salesforce, maintaining a disciplined approach to CRM hygiene
Analyze outreach performance and iterate on campaigns to improve engagement rates
Coordinate with the M&A Execution team to advance qualified opportunities through diligence and deal execution

Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or M&A sourcing.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a personable, professional phone manner.
Demonstrated ability to conduct research, develop prospect lists, and generate actionable insights.
Proficiency in Salesforce, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach.io, or Apollo is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance. MBA or graduate education is a plus but not required.
