Business Administrator

Reports directly to: Lead Pastor Strategic Partner: Executive of Schools
Status: Full-Time, Exempt

GENERAL SCOPE:

The Business Administrator serves as the chief operational, administrative, and business executive for Brave Christian Schools and Brave Church. This role owns execution, systems, people management, and operational excellence across the organization.

The Business Administrator carries full authority for day-to-day operations, ensuring that vision and strategy are translated into disciplined execution, sustainable systems, regulatory compliance, and healthy organizational performance.

The Business Administrator exists to absorb operational gravity so that visionary leadership remains focused on direction, formation, and long-term legacy.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Leadership and Execution

· Own and oversee all daily operations for Preschool, Elementary, Middle, High School, and Church operations.

· Support the strategic plans of the organization.

· Serve as the final operational decision-maker across school and church operations.

· Lead operational readiness for each school year, including staffing, facilities, safety, and systems.

Organizational Oversight and People Management

· Scope of management and direct report oversight will be determined as you grow into the role.

· Oversee Human Resources, IT, Facilities, Campus Safety, and all Operational Departments.

· Ensure healthy staff culture, clear accountability, performance management, and leadership development.

· Champion organizational values and culture formation in partnership with pastoral leadership.

Financial, Business, and Resource Stewardship

· Own operational budgeting, financial execution, and long-term sustainability.

· Partner with CFO and finance leadership team in the annual budgeting process.

· Ensure integrity, accountability, and stewardship in the collection and expenditure of all tuition, offerings, and donated funds.

· Partner with the Executive of Schools on funding development and advancement initiatives.

· Collaborate with HR and finance team to design competitive compensation and benefits structures.

Legal, Governance, and Risk Management

· Serve as an authorized corporate officer, including legal signing authority on behalf of the organization.

· Act as the primary executive voice for legal, insurance, and risk management matters.

· Ensure compliance with all board-adopted policies, governing agencies, and legal requirements.

· Surface organizational risks proactively and lead mitigation strategies.

Property, Facilities, and Master Planning

· Oversee all property, facilities, and campus infrastructure.

· Own and steward the organizational Master Plan, including long-term facilities and campus development.

· Serve as the primary liaison with city planners, zoning authorities, regulatory agencies, and neighboring property stakeholders, including HOAs.

· Ensure campus health, safety, and security across all sites.

Admissions, Enrollment, and Programs

· Oversee admissions and marketing director to ensure enrollment health and sustainability.

· Rebuild and manage after-school programming as a profitable, well-run enterprise.

· Oversee extracurricular and enrichment programs that strengthen student culture and engagement.

Strategy, Planning, and Performance Systems

· Lead operational strategic planning systems aligned to approved vision and priorities.

· Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and reporting rhythms that provide visibility into organizational health and effectiveness.

· Support annual strategic planning, multi-year execution plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Compliance, Accreditation, and Safety

· Ensure compliance with all accrediting bodies, including ACSI and WASC.

· Oversee data collection, reporting, and continuous improvement related to accreditation standards.

· Oversight of campus safety, crisis preparedness, and emergency response planning.

Communication and Reporting

· Provide regular operational updates to the Lead Pastor and Board of Elders.

· Maintain clear, proactive communication with parents, staff, and the school community as appropriate.

· Surface challenges, risks, and opportunities with transparency and solutions-focused leadership.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field required

· Master’s degree (MBA, MPA, or related field) preferred

Experience

· Minimum 5 years of senior-level leadership experience in finance, operations, or business administration

· Experience in nonprofit, church, private Christian school, or faith-based organization strongly preferred

· Proven experience overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and internal controls

· Experience managing multi-department operations (HR, facilities, IT, risk management, compliance, etc.)

· Demonstrated experience leading teams and developing high-performing staff
