About the Role This role delivers high-quality building control services that ensure compliance with statutory regulations and contribute to public safety across Nottingham. The postholder assesses building regulation applications, conducts site inspections, and provides technical advice to developers, architects, and the public. They support enforcement actions, manage records, and assist with dangerous structures and demolitions. The role requires strong communication skills, technical competence, and a commitment to equality, sustainability, and continuous professional development. Working independently and collaboratively, the officer helps deliver a citizen-focused service aligned with Nottingham City Council’s priorities. About You The ideal candidate will have: · Holding registration with the Building Safety Regulator (Class 2A minimum) · Ability to assess plans and carry out site inspections for domestic and low-rise commercial buildings. · Understanding of construction methods, materials, and site safety. · Ability to manage workload independently and meet statutory deadlines.
