The role will further develop Grant Thornton’s Non-Life insurance footprint in domestic and international markets whilst also contributing to the broader growth of the overall practice. The work will be both challenging and varied exposing you to leading-edge actuarial work in a strategic, commercial and business context and allowing you to develop an impressive range of broad consulting and technical skills that will enhance your career, with a culture of focusing on having fun in your role. You will lead a culture of collaboration and collegiality, in a high-energy environment.
Key requirements include strong knowledge of any of the following: IFRS17 / EBS / BSCR / USGAAP / Solvency II, with experience in pricing, reinsurance, climate risk, capital optimisation, process improvement or quantitative/qualitative risk considered an advantage.
Examples of consulting projects include Subject Matter Expert review, climate risk, peer reviews, international projects (from Ireland), pricing, market entry, risk, secondments (a wide variety, depending on what client needs) and international market research.
Requirements and Opportunities:
Technical
- Relevant experience in some of the following: Reserving, Pricing, Solvency II, ORSA or Risk management,.
- Independence of thought and ability to challenge colleagues regardless of grade.
- Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
- Knowledge of the insurance legal and regulatory framework.
- Adaptable, with a keen interest in developing your technical and commercial capabilities.
- Sound knowledge of the non-life industry and ability to apply that knowledge in practical and commercial situations.
