The department is instrumental in driving change improvements in customer experience and unit costs through automation, standardisation, and optimisation of HSBC’s operating model covering people, processes, products, and channels. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and thoughtful individual to join this team in the role of Associate Business Analyst – UK Change Execution The UK Change Execution is a multi-disciplinary team using Agile and Waterfall practices to manage and deliver transformational change programmes and projects across all brands and propositions. Associate Business Analysts support and manage the shaping of change, working closely with our delivery partners. The role holder will collaborate with the Business to understand the desired change outcome and contributes to the delivery of business outcomes, leveraging opportunities and managing challenges. They are involved throughout the full change lifecycle and are typically responsible for executing plans, removing impediments, managing requirements and testing outcomes meet agreed standards. Associate Business Analysts will usually support initiatives and teams and may lead smaller scale initiatives. The jobholder will have a combined set of good interpersonal skills and business/technology knowledge to develop an effective relationship with the business and IT, providing effective support that adds value. In this role you will: Requirements management and traceability, understanding the needs of the Business, translating that into User Stories and Acceptance Criteria to enable development. Detailed investigation and analysis work including MI, data, processes, systems, root causes and gaps. Input to project planning, reporting, scope, risk, and dependency management, ensuring adherence to the required change governance. Process mapping, creating wireframes and key supporting project documentation. Support the definition of the solution design for non-technology projects and supporting IT with definition of the technology elements. Provide support to the Product Owner in decision making, managing product backlogs, understanding the business propositions, and supporting the tracking and delivery of benefits. Knowledge sharing, with lessons learnt information documented and referenced. Supporting Change & Implementation/Business Readiness activities such as: - Operational Impact Assessments Understanding and Writing Procedures Customer letter specifications Communication planning Developing User Acceptance Test strategies and plans, to support defect management and customer sign-off for the deliverable, ensuring product is fit for purpose. Facilitating pilots To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: First direct legacy system architecture knowledge Understands first direct data Lineage Good communication and presentation skills. Proven ability to work with a range of stakeholders and business sponsors. Knowledge of UK Retail Products & Propositions for first direct. Experience in Jira, Confluence, and Visio. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams Self-motivated, with good time management and able to work independently or in a team. Positive, creative, and resilient individual, open to change and able to adapt to changing circumstances. Established skills in negotiating and challenging. Experience in Agile/Waterfall/Lean methodologies is desirable but not essential. A track record of making customers the focal point of everything we do.
