This is a permanent, part-time position with a guaranteed 32.5 hours per week. In this role, you will: Prepare, cook, and serve healthy, balanced meals to pupils in line with service standards Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently following training Set up and clear down dining areas, including moving and arranging furniture Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all catering areas Support the Unit Manager with task allocation and team supervision Step in for the Unit Manager when required Communicate with pupils, staff, and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner Attend training sessions and team meetings as needed In this role, you will: Be part of a friendly and supportive High School team Help prepare, cook, and serve healthy, balanced meals to students Keep catering areas and equipment clean and hygienic We’d love to hear from you if you: Enjoy working as part of a team Can stay calm under pressure and use your initiative Have great customer service skills Have experience in catering or food preparation (this is a bonus, not a must!) We’d love to hear from you if you: Are a team player with a positive and proactive attitude Have strong customer service and communication skills Have previous catering or food preparation experience (preferred but not essential Working Hours: Monday to Friday 6.5 hours per day 32.5 hours per week – term time only Qualifications & Experience: Basic numeracy, literacy, and communication skills Catering qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ equivalent are desirable On-the-job training will be provided In return Lancashire County Council offers a range of benefits, which can be found on LCC Vacancies website.
