Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and driven Accounting Technician to support our client's growing finance team in St. John's, NL. This permanent role offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to contribute to various accounting and administrative functions while developing their skills in a collaborative and professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Process vendor invoices and reconcile vendor accounts across the group companies
  • Prepare timely invoices and assist with collections
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies quickly
  • Assist the finance team in preparing for monthly, quarterly, and annual audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • Assist with reconciliations of general ledger accounts and subledgers
  • Contribute to special projects and provide financial data to support key initiatives

Experience & Attributes for Success:

  • Post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in finance, accounting, or other related field
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in accounts payable, receivable, or general accounting administration/support
  • Proficiency in accounting software; with experience using Xero as a definite asset)
  • Proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
  • Collaborative and supportive work ethic with a team oriented focus
