JOB DESCRIPTION

A temporary position is being announced with the purpose of carrying out research tasks for the Innate Immunity Unit to be carried out in the framework of the project “Unraveling the role of CD5L in modulating tumor associated macrophage responses: a novel opportunity for immunotherapy”. We look for a highly motivated candidate who wishes to advance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment within the field of translational cancer immunology research.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct in vitro functional and phenotypic analysis of macrophages and immune cells in the context of cancer using primary cells and cell lines.
  • Investigate biomarker expression in human samples employing techniques such as immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, or RT-PCR-Sequencing.
  • Analyse complex datasets using bioinformatic tools.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the research field through literature
    review.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, contributing to manuscript preparation.
  • Actively participate in laboratory meetings, IGTP seminars, and national or
    international conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE

Required:
  • At the time of recruitment, candidates must hold a Masters degree in biological or biomedical science.
  • Experience abroad.
  • Applicants must demonstrate an advanced level of English language (spoken and written).
  • Previous experience with data analysis and R programming, cell culture, real-time PCR, microscopy, and image analysis.
Valued:
  • Background knowledge in immunology, cancer and/or cancer immunology
  • Hands-on research experience in national/international laboratories
  • Proven ability to communicate complex scientific information clearly and concisely, and to work collaboratively within a research team.
  • Strong ability to manage responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Organizational, proactive and self-motivated attitude.

  • Gross annual remuneration inherent to the square objected to this call, will be fixed based on the experience provided and the skills of the candidate, distributed in 12 payments.

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is a public research centre located in Badalona. Its main objective is to increase scientific knowledge in order to transform it into solutions to improve the health and medical care of patients and the community.

The Institute is associated with one of the major university hospitals in the Barcelona area, the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, and is part of the Can Ruti biomedical campus.
